Rotary indexing table is a commonly used rotary device in automated machinery. Its own high speed, high precision and high torque characteristics cannot be achieved by other mechanical structures. At present, in terms of intermittent component requirements, DD Motors are slightly better in terms of accuracy and speed. However, on the one hand, the price and cost of DD motors are too high. On the other hand, from the perspective of product stability and life, the indexer has a greater advantage. So, how is the number of driving angles of the indexer controlled?

The determination of the degree of the indexer comes from the mechanical technical requirements for the indexer. The movement of the indexer is to realize the intermittent division of the output shaft under the condition of continuous rotation of the input shaft. In other words, it is the angle at which the rotary indexing table rotates to perform a division cycle. For example, after the required number of processing stations is determined, then the drive angle is confirmed, which is what we call the indexer's degree.

When the cam of the input shaft of the indexer is indexing the output bearing, the output shaft of the indexer is in operation, and when the input cam is not cutting motion, then the output shaft is in a static state, which is also a rotary indexing table Intermittent action-stop-move-stop. The movement angle of the output axis is reflected in the angle connection between each station of the output axis during the operation of the indexer. Usually two stations, four stations, 6 stations, 8 stations, and 12 stations are used. Then, the corresponding angles are 270 degrees, 180 degrees, 120 degrees, 90 degrees, 60 degrees, 45 degrees, 30 degrees, and so on.
The above description is only for the disc-type intermittent indexer. In actual production, there will be some irregular intermittent actions. This requires photoelectric induction control or PLC control methods according to the needs. In short , The degree of the indexer is determined and the product selection decision in the early stage. In the automation system, the number of stations, positioning time, rotation time, number of rotations of the input shaft, disc diameter, thickness and other factors are determined naturally.
